Subscription & Refund Policy

This policy governs subscriptions to paid content on Detour Expeditions.
1. What a Subscription Includes
A subscription gives you access to all paywalled content published on this site during your active subscription period. Non-subscribers can access general site pages (such as About, Contact, FAQ, and the newsletter) but cannot access articles or other content pieces.
2. Billing
Subscriptions are billed annually at the rate displayed at the time of purchase. The price is in USD. Payment is processed securely through PayPal.
3. No Automatic Renewal
Detour Expeditions does not automatically renew subscriptions. At the end of your subscription year, you will receive a clear notification asking whether you wish to continue. Renewal is always your choice — we will never charge you without your explicit action.
4. Cancellation
You may cancel at any time, but please note that cancellation takes effect at the end of your current subscription year. You will retain full access to all content until that date.
After your subscription ends, your account will remain active. All content published up to and including your subscription period will remain accessible to you in your personal archive indefinitely, as long as you do not delete your account.
5. Refund Policy
All subscription purchases are final and non-refundable.
We do not offer refunds, partial refunds, or pro-rated refunds under any circumstances. Please read the site’s publicly available content and policies carefully before subscribing to ensure it is the right fit for you.
In the event of a technical error resulting in a duplicate charge, please contact us at contact@detourexpeditions.com and we will investigate and resolve the matter promptly.
6. Account Deletion
If you choose to delete your account, you will permanently lose access to your personal archive. This action cannot be undone. We strongly recommend you do not delete your account if you wish to retain access to content from your subscription period.
7. Changes to Pricing or Policy
We reserve the right to change subscription pricing or the terms of this policy. Any changes will be communicated clearly before they take effect and will not apply retroactively to active subscriptions.
